Sunny View Preschool: the very best start to school life.

At Sunny View Preschool, we aim to provide the highest standards of education and care for children aged between 2 and 5 years. We believe that a fun, nurturing environment is crucial to happy and healthy development. Our Preschool building is purpose-built for young children and thoughtfully designed both inside and out to consider their learning needs at the varying stages of development. Preschool follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) play-based curriculum, where an emphasis is placed on the child as an active learner who plays a central role in the construction of their own knowledge, skills and understanding.

The Reception year for children aged 4-5 marks the beginning of more academic learning. The children by now have developed many skills and characteristics necessary to be effective, independent learners. The end of the school year focuses on children reaching their Early Learning Goals.

Teaching and learning is mostly through games and play and covers the following areas:

communication and language

physical development

personal, social and emotional development

literacy

mathematics

understanding the world

expressive arts and design
