Nursery

Learning for 3- to 4-year-olds continues to focus on exploration, play, and social interaction while introducing more structured activities to support early development.

Children in this age group engage in a variety of hands-on experiences that promote language development, early literacy, numeracy skills, and physical coordination. Through imaginative play, storytelling, and creative activities, they begin to make connections between their experiences and the world around them. This approach is supported by the array of non-text (picture) books which help to further stimulate the children’s imagination and language development. Taking these books home on a weekly basis positively reinforces engagement, allowing the children to explore stories and concepts in a familiar environment, fostering a love for reading from an early age.
Teachers facilitate learning through guided play and scaffolded activities, encouraging children to ask questions, solve problems, and express themselves creatively. The EYFS framework recognises the importance of nurturing each child's unique abilities and interests.
