Spanish Curriculum - Secondary

In Year 8, students studying the secondary Spanish Curriculum, referred to as La ESO: Enseñanza Secundaria Obligatoria. Spanning from primero de la ESO (first year of ESO) to cuarto de la ESO (fourth year of ESO), students study Lengua Castellana (Spanish Language) and Geografía e Historia through to Year 11, building upon the foundations of their learning in the Primary phase. This enables students to apply for the ESO certificate as well as obtain their iGCSE certificates upon completion of Year 11.

University Access

Students who wish to access Spanish university courses will be expected to take four A-Levels to fulfil entry requirements, one of which is usually Spanish International A Level, as well as two Específicas subjects from the Spanish national curriculum. This ensures that our students have equal opportunity to access the best Spanish universities, in line with their peers who may have studied in the Spanish school system.

For students who choose to apply to a university here in Spain, they do not need to complete a university entrance exam (PAU) because the International A levels are externally and independently assessed.
